Memorial Park is the venue for a massive inflatable outdoor waterslide this summer.
Yesterday SunLive went along to grab some photos and check it out.
The weather was a little cooler than usual, but GetWet MegaSlide owner Bobby Boshae says it didn't put a damper on the slide's popularity.
'It was cloudy yesterday, but we were busy all day,” he says.
The slide's been there since December 15, and Bobby says it's the first time they've done it in Tauranga. The slide – originally from Florida – is 200 feet long and four storeys high.
He reckons it must be a hit, as they've been getting a lot of repeat customers.
In preparation for the summer, they also went around to various schools in the Bay of Plenty with 8000 colouring-in competitions and crosswords. The pupils who entered and won scored themselves a season pass.
'It means they can ride the slide as much as they like until February.”
That's when the slide will pack up, so get down to Memorial Park quick if you want to try something different for the holidays.
