Minor injuries in Kaimai crash

The occupants of a vehicle which crashed on State Highway 29 were lucky to have escaped with minor injuries.

Emergency services were called to the crash around 4.35pm, after a vehicle hit a barrier on the Matamata side of the Kaimai Range.

'It was reported that people were trapped for a time,” says a police spokesperson.

'Ambulance staff reported minor injuries when transporting to hospital.”

One lane was in operation for a time as emergency services cleared the scene.

The road was fully reopened just before 6pm.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
