Heads or tails Mr Mortaza?

Eight-year-old Brooklyn Grigson says she's not nervous. 'Not a bit.”

But when told possibly 10,000 people will be at Bay Oval this afternoon to watch her toss the coin for the Blackcaps versus Bangladesh T20 cricket match, she admits she might get a touch anxious.

And when told hundreds of thousands more will watch her live on television around New Zealand and on the sub-continent, well, she just hadn't considered being on the international stage for a moment. So with that news she wasn't expecting to get much sleep last night.

The Omanu schoolgirl, who prefers art to cricket, won the right to toss the coin and possibly have a major say on the outcome of the game in an ANZ bank competition.

'Yeah, I like cricket. No, I don't play cricket,” says the celeb coin tosser.

She doesn't play cricket at school or even in the backyard. But she does watch cricket.

Brooklyn watches cricket on TV with her Dad Paul while he's having a beer.

SunLive photographer Chris Callinan flicked Brooklyn a dollar coin to demonstrate her skills. Practice required.

She promised to do a crash course last night. Then perhaps she might be just carrying the coin out for the pre-match protocols at the wicket.

Watch out for Brooklyn Grigson just before play starts at 3pm this afternoon.

She will be the pretty little blond with captains Kane Williamson and Mashrafe Mortaza.
