Rotorua Boys' coach Kieran Botha is excited about the upcoming match, which is being touted as the game of this weekend's Baywide Secondary Schools Rugby Competition division one round.

“We are looking forward to the battle. These are always tough games, with a long standing rivalry. Tauranga Boys are a quality team and we will need to be on or game come Saturday.”

His counterpart, Tauranga Boys' coach Steve Kelly is also looking forward to the match, saying it's great that his side not only playing in the first division this year, but will also be tested by the best teams from the Bay of Plenty, like Rotorua Boys' this weekend.

“We have some real potential in the side and we have a mix of older players and some up and comers to foster for our 1st XV in the future. we have a hard working forward pack and a backline that has some real threats, which co-coach Brad Fleming will continue to make great use of this year.

“With a lot of work still to do, we hope to continually build on our basics through this competition to enable us to be a polished outfit at the commencement of our Super 8 Campaign.”
