Multimillionaire newly-minted in Thames

Whether it’s a local, or someone just passing through, Thames has made someone a multimillionaire through a big Lotto win this weekend. File photo.

A Thames ticket holder is $27 million richer after they hit the jackpot in Saturday's Powerball draw.

The winning ticket was bought at Martina Four Square and Lotto in Thames, with the winner landing $27 million from Powerball First Division and $333,333 from Lotto First Division.

The winning numbers are: 9, 8, 3, 36, 28 and 2.

The bonus ball is 18, while the all-important Powerball number is 10.

Division two Powerball was also won last night, with the winner taking home $54,741.

And the winning didn't stop there, with a trio of people winning division one Lotto without Powerball, taking home $111,111 each.

The largest ever individual prize - $33 million - was won in 2013 by a man who wished to stay anonymous.

Most people can only dream of ever winning the "Big One'. I am sure the winners are hard working and are well deserving of the massive win-fall. Enjoy it, share it, and spend it wisely. All the very best to you both, good on you!!
