Crash closes down Coromandel road

Two vehicles have crashed on State Highway 25, forcing emergency services to close the down the stretch of highway in the Coromandel.

Emergency services are attending a crash at the intersection of State Highway 25 and Hikuai Settlement Rd.

“Two vehicles are involved. There are three patients,” says police.

“Two helicopters are being sent to the scene. SH25 is blocked in both directions.”

Any light traffic going south can head to Coroglen and take an unsealed route.

Going north, there are local diversions in place.

The Serious Crash Unit has been advised.
