Police are seeking more information after a student was approached by men in a silver Nissan on Fraser St earlier this week.

A police spokesperson says reports were received about a suspicious approach involving three to four men in a vehicle attempting to approach a female student on Monday morning.

Police say the student recorded the registration plate and they're now following strong lines of enquiry and working with her and her school to find out more information about the men in the car.

'She did the right thing by remembering the registration of the car and then alerting her school,” says Police.

Any members of public who may know any information about the incident are being urged to contact Detective David Harris at the Tauranga Central Police Station, on 07 577 4300.

Alternatively, information can be left anonymously via the Crimestoppers 0800 555 111 line.
