Traffic woes in the mount this afternoon caused by malfunctioning the Barrier arms at the intersection of Hewletts and Maunganui Roads are easing say police.

The barrier arms were down for nearly half an hour backing traffic up, Then there was a car vs 4x4 crash in Newton Street at 4pm that blocked a land for a while holding up the traffic trying to get past the barrier arms by the KFC.

KiwiRail told police at 4.31 that the barrier arms ‘should all be fixed now' says western Bay of Plenty road policing manager Senior Sergeant Ian Campion.
