Motorists are being warned to expect delays in the Greerton area this morning, following a truck fire on State Highway 29A.

A truck was reported on fire at about 6.40am on the highway between Poike Road and Oropi Road roundabouts.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says the fire was out on arrival when firefighters arrived at the scene.

It's understood the truck is in the process of being removed from the scene, but will cause slight traffic delays until this is done.

Motorists are advised to drive with caution or use an alternative route on the way to work this morning.
