Two men are in Rotorua Hospital following a crash in the Bay of Plenty.

Police and fire were called to the single vehicle crash on Pekepeke Road, near Kaiangaroa, at about 1pm yesterday.

The BayTrust Rescue Helicopter was dispatched a shortime later, says a spokesperson for the rescue chopper.

The men, both aged 24, sustained moderate injuries and were treated at the scene by medical staff.

They were flown to Rotorua Hospital for further treatment.

Police are investigating the circumstances of the crash.
