Fleet murder accused appear in court

The bodies of Raymond and James Fleet were found in the Mamaku Forest on August 17.

The five men arrested in relation to the murders of a Bay of Plenty uncle and nephew have briefly appeared in Rotorua District Court.

Zen Pulemoana, 26, Mikaera James Hura, 21 and Martin Hone, 34, all face two charges of murder as well as a raft of methamphetamine related charges.

Richard Tuwhakakorongo Te Raroa Te Kani, 29, also appeared charged with manslaughter, accessory after the fact of murder, manufacture of methamphetamine and threatening to kill, reports Stuff.

A fifth man is scheduled to appear in Whakatane District Court later today.

The men were arrested yesterday following a homicide investigation into the deaths of Raymond and James Fleet.

The accused appeared in court via audio visual link.

They were all remanded without plea ahead of appearing at the High Court in Rotorua on October 25.

Raymond, 51, and James, 25, were reported missing on August 10.

A double murder investigation was launched when their bodies were discovered in the Mamaku Forest seven days later.
