Jill and Chris Fryer at Upshot have won the Most Trusted business awards this year in the annual on-line competition.

The husband and wife team have for 30 years been working in – or alongside – small businesses in Tauranga, assisting owners with their accounts and bookkeeping, payroll and PAYE returns, health & safety policies and more.

'It's really good kudos for us that people think we are that good and recommend us,” says Jill Fryer. 'That's how we end up getting clients, a lot of them are referrals.

'It's actually really quite humbling that people think you really are that good.

'We look after small businesses accounting side of things. Our whole idea is to look after our clients as we would like to be looked after, because we are a small business as well. We do as much or as little as our clients require us to do.”

The Tauranga Most Trusted Business Awards are judged on hundreds of votes and testimonials received for many Tauranga businesses between October 1st, 2017 and November 1st, 2017.

Most Trusted provided each business with an online platform to be rated, by the Public, out of 5 stars for each of the following criteria: Value, Location, Service, Expertise, Features. Voters also leave a testimonial about the business they voted for. Each and every vote/ testimonial is publicly available on the Most Trusted website.

Upshot is the clear winner this year receiving 70 voters. Bayride Motorcycles received 41 votes and The Staffroom Ltd 39 votes.

Bayride on Cameron Road is about motorcycles from sales to servicing. Staff are all keen motorcyclists, and the website keeps customers informed about new makes and models, accessories and products as they become available.

The Staffroom is a Tauranga-based recruitment agency operating in the Bay of Plenty and main centres including Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch. The Staffroom specialises in placement of permanent office based positions and call centre employment.
