Armed police have been spotted in Bureta this morning.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says there are armed police in the Kulim Park area.

A reporter at the scene says there is one armed cop at Vale Street and one at the intersection of Chapel Street and Ngatai Road.

"Looks like they are blocking off Ngatai Road."

A police spokesperson says police are conducting a search warrant in the area.

People are advised to steer clear of the area as police undertake the operation.
