A person pulled from the water at Lake Rotorua has died.
Emergency services were called to an area off Gloucester Rd around 11am.
Police were notified by ambulance of a "water related" incident where a person had been pulled from the water, says a police spokesperson.
"A man was pulled from the water and CPR was performed but unfortunately the man died at the scene."
A paramedic at the scene says they were attending a "suspected drowning" of a resident of the road.
"He was found in the river by family members. CPR was in progress when we arrived and we continued with resuscitation, which was, unfortunately, unsuccessful. "
Fire and Emergency northern fire communications shift manager Paul Radden confirmed brigades from Ngongotaha and Rotorua attended.
