Emergency services are responding to a vehicle fire near Te Puke.
"We had reports of a car on fire on the side of the road on Te Puke Highway, between Collins Lane and Jellicoe Street, at 6.40am," says a police spokesperson.
"Officers at the scene have advised that the occupants were out of the car."
Fire and Emergency NZ report that they have visited the scene and the fire is extinguished.
