The two Indian tourists killed in a head-on crash yesterday have been named as Dilip Kataruka and his son Madhav Kataruka.
The father aged 56 and 19-year-old son were travelling between Tokoroa and Taupo when the car they were in and a truck collided head-on on State Highway 1.
The pair were from Jharkhand in Eastern Indian and had arrived in New Zealand on December 10 to visit family members in Auckland.
Police say the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
