A Tauranga naturist accused of causing offence by mowing his lawns naked will defend the charges in court next month.
Andrew Pointon, 47, faced two charges of offensive behaviour when he appeared in Tauranga District Court yesterday.

The charges stem from allegations Pointon, a naturist for more than 20 years, was allegedly mowing his lawn naked on January 5 and March 31 last year, while two young children and adults looked on.
Last year, Pointon won his appeal over an offensive behaviour conviction he received for jogging naked in a forest in August.
He also drew attention when he organised a nude bike ride in March 2012.

Any person who exposes his naked body in full view of women and children is worthy of a thorough investigation as to what are the motives! True naturists would not behave in this manner and this man needs to be punished if found guilty.

He can run around naked all he likes in private and not offend anybody but this does not seem to be enough for him.I am sure there is a technical term for people who are happy for children to see them completly naked. Would he be so keen to run around naked in jail if we threw him in jail ?

why on earth should children & women not see people naked? was everyone born with clothes for heavens sake? had a discussion with a grandie while watching 'my daughter the teenage nudist' the other evening & while she wasn't interested, she couldn't give a toss what others do.

I do not have an issue with your ideals, but I cannot see why the majority have to have them foisted on them, your attitude is extremely arrogant, if you want to shake your booty with like minded people, go for it, just do not expect others to have to put up with it.
