A four car accident has blocked State Highway 2 near the intersection with Welcome Bay Road this morning.
A head on, two vehicle collision happened about 6.30am on the Te Puke side of the intersection. Two other cars were subsequently involved.

The road was closed this morning after a crash.
Tauranga fire service senior station officer Len Sabin says at 7.15am that although it is a serious accident, nobody was killed.
The drivers of two of the vehicles were taken to Tauranga hospital by St John Ambulance.
A 29 year old male suffered serious facial ghead and arm injuries, and an 82 year old man suffered a moderate mech injury.
Western Bay of Plenty acting road policing manager Senior Sergeant Wayne Hunter says the crash was caused by two cars colliding on a bend on the Te Puke side of Welcome Bay Road intersection.
Two other cars subsquently hit the wreckage.
'One car collided with a 4x4, then two more crashed into those vehicles.
'Apparently one of the passengers took off when he heard the police were coming. We had a look to make sure he want lying unconscious in a ditch somewhere.”
The busy road was closed for nearly an hour while the wreckage was cleared.

its ok just poor drivers...look at the visability in the photo, plenty of viewing distance...poor judgement and speed are always factors...kiwis don't look or indicate!

I guess with your knowledge you must drive this road daily, I used to but have now moved so I don't have to drive on this dangerous road. Sometimes its more than just the drivers. this is as NZgirl said a dodgy bit of road.
