Kaimai fatal: woman named

Police have released the name of the Tauranga woman killed when the car she was driving collided with a logging truck on State Highway 29 near the Ruahihi Power Station yesterday.

She was Lisa Maree Boston, aged 42 of Tauranga.

Lisa died at the scene shortly after the crash at the Ruahihi Road intersection at 8.15am.

Western Bay of Plenty road policing manager Senior Sergeant Ian Campion says police enquiries are continuing and crash investigators will complete a scene survey and analysis.

He says Lisa was turning right out of Ruahihi Road towards Tauranga when she collided with the unladen truck travelling towards Hamilton.

She was the sole occupant of the car.

The road was closed from 8.30am until 12pm today while the police Serious Crash Unit investigated.

Ian says police thank the members of the public who stopped to help at the scene.
