Police say the car had been driving on the walking track and lost control and landed in the Kopurererua Stream.

Concerns were raised earlier today that the car's occupants may have still been trapped since a Tauranga Girls' College t-shirt was found nearby.

‘the car had been driving on the walking track'! Goodness me, didn't it know better? Maybe it's time for all car's to sit a driving licence test? Bit like it's mate, elsewhere over the weekend, ‘two teenagers are injured after the van they were in crashed in to a power pole in Lower Hutt this morning.' Oh dear, poor teenagers, so one of them wasn't driving the van? Really, it is time the appalling behaviour of vehicles on our roads was addressed!
