Kiwi duo to tour Katikati

Two Kiwi musicians will be performing in Katikati in July as part of their ‘So Good They Named It Twice Tour' of the North Island.

Anika Moa and Benny Tipene have announced they've booked a mini van and will be doubling up for the huge roadie, performing nine shows this July 3-19, with Katikati's show being the finale on July 19.

Kiwi musicians Anika Moa and Benny Tipene will play in Katikati in July, in their ‘So Good They Named It Twice Tour'.

Other towns in the tour are Mimi, Kihikihi, Matamata, Ramarama, Hora Hora, Kerikeri, Naenae and Poroporo.

Anika Moa says she will bring a fresh batch of songs alongside favourites and her trademark on-stage banter.

'I have new songs of heartache, new jokes, and an easy-on-the-eye support act.

'I'm looking forward to playing previously unvisited towns” says Anika.

Her first baby album 'Songs for Bubbas' has been a resounding success and she recently finished filming the TV series 'Songs From The Inside', in which she tutored inmates of Auckland Women's Prison.

Songwriter/musician Benny Tipene may not have taken the winning title on ‘X-Factor New Zealand' but it hasn't stopped his momentum.

He has platinum and gold awards for his first two singles, and his third single and EP are in the charts; and an album is due September.

The venues are where townsfolk meet – community centres, town halls, sports centres –and all gigs are open all ages except at Mimi.
