Clayton Mitchell: Have your say

If Clayton Mitchell is elected through NZ First into a Government coalition he will resign as a city councillor. But if he's elected into oppositioon he wants the public to decide the fate of his TCC role.

Clayton has promised the results of this poll will be binding, so please choose carefully. The poll will close at midday, Friday 5th September.

I disagree with Clayton Mitchell being able to give full value to his council position if elected to parliament. He was elected in good faith to do a full time job for the betterment of our community at a very addiquate salary.regardless whether he claims his salary or not we need all his efforts dedicated to our city, not convenient slots of time when he can juggle his commitments. We have seen too many previous councillors whose attendance record at meetings were severely lacking.Full time commitment or not at all!

Is being a city councillor a job or a hobby? Be the best councillor you can or be the best MP you can, but neither sound like part time hobbies to me.

Ideally Suited?

Believing he can wear two hats without compromise demonstrates that Mr Mitchell has a character trait prevalent in political office today - self assurance bordering on arrogance!

Clayton Mitchell and NZ First have done our community NO favours in regards the Route K debt. The $63 million or so has NO measureable impact on the ratepayers. It's removal will be seen as an opportunitry to spend up big on grand schemes which WILL be at a the cost to ratepayers and first home builders. No mention of the $11 million ratepayer debt on the NZTA extension through The Lakes which is being paid for through our rates. Qualified or not, being a community representative is about 'being available', representing your community 24/7. Bigamy is NOT an moral option!
