Council heads to Welcome Bay

Welcome Bay will be the next city suburb to be visited by Tauranga City Council's Community Development Committee.

The committee will hold an evening meeting at the Welcome Bay Community Centre on Tuesday, September 23, from 6.30pm-8pm.

The next neighbourhood Community Development Committee meeting is at Welcome Bay Community Centre.

The suburban meetings are to make it more convenient for local residents to attend.

On the night, the committee will lead community discussions relevant to the area, and give residents the opportunity to talk to councillors about issues they see.

The Community Development Committee was established last year with the purpose of encouraging discussion on opportunities and issues affecting individual communities.

Every meeting is held at different locations around the city in order to focus on matters specific to those communities.

So far they have been held at Papamoa and Matua.

Details of the Welcome Bay meeting are:

Venue: Welcome Bay Community Centre, 242 Welcome Bay Road

Date and Time: Tuesday, September 23, 2014 from 6.30pm–8pm

Guess that Welcome Bay will be approached via the tunnel perhaps? Not sure how they will pull that one off?
