Police investigating the crash which killed a 72-year-old in Tokoroa are calling for witnesses to come forward.

Loane Pere was critically injured after being hit by a small truck on Dalmeny St around 9pm on Friday.

Police were called to a serious crash in Tokoroa about 9pm on Friday.

Loane died later in Waikato Hospital.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the crash or have information relating to it to come forward.

Police are particularly interested in two pedestrians who were reportedly on the footpath and would have been passed by the truck just prior to the fatal collision.
