Community spirit is alive and well as parents of Pahoia School pupils ran, swam and biked their way to the finish line at this year's school triathlon.

About 300 little athletes took part in the event held at Omokoroa's waterfront this morning.

The weather didn't let the youngsters down as they raced in ideal conditions cheered on by an enthusiastic crowd.

Organiser Kim McCormack says the triathlon has a focus on having fun and getting outside.

It's the sixth year the event has been held at the Omokoroa's Crapp Reserve.
