Police have cordoned off a property in Gate Pa this morning following the suspicious death of a Tauranga man.
Police and ambulance responded to calls to a property down Wilrose Pl, Gate Pa at 10.40pm on Sunday.
Detective Inspector Lew says when police arrived, paramedics were treating a 52-year-old man who had serious injuries to his head.
Despite efforts, he was pronounced dead at 11.15pm.
"Police are conducting a scene examination and enquiries will continue today."
Lew says police were in currently contacting the victim's family.
"Police would like to speak to anyone who was in the Courtney Road, Wilrose Place, Fraser Street area between 9pm and midnight last night."
This is the second death linked to Wilrose Place this year.
Lance Wayne Waite died from injuries believed to have been sustained at a property in Wilrose Place.
He was dumped at Tauranga Hospital, where he later died.
Police have charged a man with the murder following Lance's death.
