Woman's car stolen at gunpoint

Police are investigating the carjacking.

A woman has been left shaken after being carjacked.

Tokoroa Police are appealing for information after the woman's car was taken at gunpoint this afternoon.

Police say the incident happened on Stanley Street around 1pm.

"Two young males, believed to be in their mid-late teens and both wearing dark hoodies, pointed a gun at the woman, forcing her to get out of the car.

"The two males then drove away in the car, heading north towards Billah Street.The car is yet to be recovered and Police are appealing for any sightings of it."

It is a white Honda Odyssey, registration DTT185.

The occupants of the car should not be approached by members of the public, says police.

"If you have information which might help us locate the car and/or the offenders, please call 111 immediately."

ANY crimes involving the presentation of firearms needs a mandatory jail sentence. Some people can't distinguish the difference between American TV shows and the reality of life in NZ.
