A Bay of Plenty road has been closed after a serious crash.
Emergency services are responding at the scene on State Highway 2 near Whakatane.
A police spokesperson says injuries at this stage are unclear.
'The road is currently closed between Taneatua and Waimana.”
'Diversions are being put in place.”
'Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.”
