UPDATE 11:54am: No one was injured after a vehicle hit a bank on Waitao Road in Welcome Bay.

A police spokesperson says they were called to the scene at 10.40am.

UPDATE 11.20am: One vehicle has crashed on Waitao Road in Welcome Bay.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says a women and her children hit the bank.

"Only one car was invloved and no one was hurt."

Earlier:

Two vehicles have crashed on Waitao Road in Welcome Bay.

A SunLive photographer at the scene says it looks like the cars have had a head on collision.

'The road is currently blocked.”

Injuries are unknown at this stage.
