The Tauranga Fishing and Boat Show is celebrating its second year this weekend at Trustpower Baypark.

The indoor fishing and boat show will have everything related to having fun on, in and under the water.

This year's show is now covering double the exhibitor with more than twice the number of exhibitors than last year's inaugural show.

SunLive popped down to the arena today, where there is a constant stream of people attending the show.

There is everything marine at the show and if you are in the need for a new boat, looking to upgrade some gear, or just looking for a new fishing rod, the Tauranga Fishing and Boat Show is the place to go this weekend.

Marine New Zealand, Bay of Plenty Regional Council, Tauranga Coastguard and Fisheries New Zealand are on hand to offer water safety and fishery guidance to ensure you return back to land safely and with a legal catch.

Legasea and Tindale Marine Research Charitable Trust join us this year to endorse the importance of a conservation balance to protect fish stocks for all.

While Bay of Plenty Powerboat Club provide the smallest and possibly the fastest boats in the show, we have fish Art, marine electronics, fishing simulators, bait cannons and none-other than the legendary Bill Hohepa waiting to meet you and have a yarn.

The Tauranga Fishing and Boat Show runs from today until Sunday November 3.

The show finishes up at 6pm this evening, and re-opens from 10am to 5pm on Saturday November 2, and from 10am-3pm on Sunday.
