Tauranga City Council's project team is asking the local community to come and have a say today on the ‘Innovating streets at the Mount' project.

'We want to trial ideas that make the Mount safer, accessible for more people, and attractive for the community and visitors,” says a council spokesperson.

'Drop down and complete a survey or ask any questions you have on the project.”

The project team working on ‘Innovating Streets at The Mount' will be down at Main Mount beach today Saturday, September 5 from 9am – 2pm. The team will be at a stall on the grass next to the Mount Maunganui Lifeguard Service building.

'It important that you the community communicate your highlights or concerns re the following trial as Tauranga City Council are co-designing this with you. Your voice counts. If you want it or not please head down and inform the staff,” says Tauranga City and Mount/Papamoa ward councillor Dawn Kiddie.

Consultation finishes on Monday September 7 so anyone unable to provide feedback in person can submit feedback online at www.tauranga.govt.nz/innovatingstreets

They Suck.

The bottom line is -

Posted on 05-09-2020 23:55 | By The Caveman

that the decisions have already been made by faceless council bureaucrats - and like it or lump it - the mount RESIDENTS are going to get a ONE WAY road system for the benefit of and to suit the CYCLE MOB !!!

Agree with Caveman

I agree with Caveman that it's likely that the traffic planners will prevail and cycleways and pedestrians will rule. I learnt years ago that consultation doesn't mean agreement and the " experts" and I use that term loosely will decide for us. We plebs are there to pick up the bills and if it turns out wrong then too bad (as per Greerton over budget , over time and under achieving)

No point in having say

This council does not listen. Look at the Links ave debacle around Mt Intermediate. It is a nightmare and very dangerous. People complain all the time. BOP Times just reported that council says it is working really well. This is at polar opposites to the public view!!
