Emergency services are currently responding to a serious crash on No.3 Road in Te Puke.

Police say the two-vehicle crash was reported around 3.45pm.

"The road will be closed and traffic management will be in place."

Motorists are advised to avoid the area.

"Further information will be provided once it becomes available."

A St John spokesperson says they are currently on scene with one patient in moderate condition. They are unable to provide further information at this stage.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE hotline says a car has smashed head first into a bank on No.3 Road.

They saw about ten police cars at the scene.
