Police are in attendance of a serious crash on a section of State Highway 2 at Waiotahe, near Ōpōtiki.
The two-vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of Ohiwa Beach Road at around 2.30pm.
"The road is closed and motorists are advised to avoid the area," says a police spokesperson.
"Northbound traffic is being diverted down Waitotahe Valley Road and southbound traffic is being diverted down Paerata Ridge Road.
"More information will be provided when available."
