State Highway 1/Tirau Road south of Cambridge is closed following a collision between two vehicles.
Motorists are asked to take alternate routes through Karapiro Road.
"It happened around 2pm near the intersection with Kentucky Road," says a police spokesperson.
"Initial indications are that one person is seriously injured."

I bet they'll blame speed again. Seems to be more accidents than ever. I'm all for a new approach. Increase the speed limits. The faster you go, the less time you're on the road. Less time on the road, is less congestion. Less congestion is less chance of hitting another car. 120kph open road limits.
