One person has died following a workplace death in Tauranga.

In a statement released this afternoon, police say one person died after an "incident on Upper Ohauiti Road, Ohauiti".

"Emergency services responded to the incident where a quad bike has rolled around 9.20am, says a police spokesperson.

"Enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances of the incident.

"WorkSafe has been advised."
