Tomorrow, Saturday, November 2, the Tauranga Racecourse will come alive with the Bayleys Community Carnival Raceday, offering a thrilling day of racing and family-friendly activities.

The event features an impressive ten-race programme, with free entry for all attendees, making it a perfect outing for the whole family.

The highlight of the day is the highly anticipated Feature Race, the Financial Services 1300, showcasing a competitive field. La Crique, a star performer with over $1.3 million in earnings, returns after a win in Australia last June and is expected to attract significant attention.

However, Wild Night, fresh off a victory at Matamata four weeks ago and boasting a strong record of seven wins from fourteen starts, will be a formidable contender. Local trainer Jim Pender will be aiming for a strong showing with Gospodin on its home track, promising an exciting race.

Family Fun Activities

Beyond the thrilling races, the Bayleys Community Carnival Raceday promises an array of entertainment for younger attendees.

Circus in a Flash will provide interactive circus fun, while a free photo booth allows families to capture memories of the day. Kids can also participate in the Bayleys Colouring Competition, adding an artistic flair to the festivities.

Tauranga Crossing Fashions in the Field

Fashion enthusiasts can look forward to the Tauranga Crossing Fashions in the Field, where stylish contenders will compete for a place at the Ned Prix de Fashion 2025 at Ellerslie Racecourse.

There are over $5000 in prizes up for grabs with the first 20 entries receiving a $50 Tauranga Crossing voucher. Attendees can register on the day before the first race or simply enjoy the fashion show.

The carnival atmosphere will be enhanced by live music from SparX, who will perform popular hits on the St Leger Lawn. A variety of food trucks and market stalls will cater to all tastes, ensuring that visitors can indulge in delicious treats while enjoying the day.

For those looking to test their luck, the Punters' Club welcomes new pro-punter Ethan Kilgarriff this season. Tickets are available for $10 from roving sellers or the kiosk outside the office, with updates on betting opportunities displayed on the Indicator Board throughout the day.
