A group of Tauranga youths are taking to the stage next Friday to portray the awkward transition into young adulthood through a musical.
13: The Musical explores the awkward transition into young adulthood with high-energy musical numbers and poignant moments that are oh-so-relatable for anyone that’s lived, is living or has kids going through the high school experience, says a spokesperson for the Tauranga Musical Theatre.
“Evan Goldman is plucked from his fast-paced, preteen New York City life and plopped into a sleepy Indiana town following his parents’ divorce.
“Surrounded by an array of simpleminded middle school students, he needs to establish his place in the popularity pecking order. Can he situate himself on a comfortable link of the food chain… or will he dangle at the end with the outcasts?!
“With an unforgettable rock score performed by a live band, 13 is a musical about fitting in… and standing out!”
The show is being performed by all under 18-year-olds and is Tauranga Musical Theatre’s annual Youth Show.
The show runs from January 22 through to January 30.
SunLive has two double passes to give away to see the show.
