An enormous queue of vehicles tailed back from the crash scene as police held a road block there as they attended to the incident.

A SunLive caller, says he counted 112 trucks in the queue that stretched back to the Domain Road roundabout – at the Papamoa turnoff.

The queue of vehicles is slowly diminishing.

The diversion was down a gravel road.

Cars were diverted over Rocky Cutting Road and Reid Road while trucks were forced to remain on the highway.
