Temporary closures of up to 10 minutes are expected for motorists traveling through the Waioeka Gorge today.

Contractors will be carrying out rock stabilisation works between 1pm and 4pm.

Rock stabilisation works are being carried out in the Waioeka Gorge today.

The works are only planned for today and motorists are being warned to expected 10-15 minutes delays.

Care is also be urged when driving through the gorge, especially with the potential for black ice on the roads.
