Hello Sailor will be joined on stage by Kiwi supergroup The Band of Brothers, and though there's no local shows, Coromandel fans still have three chances to catch the lads in action.

The bands play Tauranga's Baycourt Community and Arts Centre on Wednesday, September 9, then a week later head up to Auckland's Powerstation to play on Friday, September 18.

Then they'll drive down the road and over the hill to Hamilton's Founders Theatre where they'll be performing on Saturday, September 19.

Hello Sailor are Graham Brazier, Harry Lyon, Rick Ball, Paul Woolright, Jimmy Taylor and Stuart Pearce.

Guitarist Harry Lyon says he and his bandmates are excited to get together Band of Brothers who's members are some of his oldest friends.

'These guys have been around since we were all in flares,” says Harry. 'Having them as part of our 40th anniversary tour is such an honour and I couldn't think of a more talented group of friends to enjoy it with.”

The Band of Brothers is made up of a 'who's who” of New Zealand music and features Jordan Luck, Peter Urlich, Eddie Rayner, Brett Adams, Peter Warren, Bryan Bell and Dave Gent.

They are uniting for the tour and will perform a full set drawn from their respective bands including Th' Dudes, The Exponents, Split Enz, The Mockers, DD Smash and more.

Both bands are promising rocking sets and will combine at the end of the night for the ultimate 40th Anniversary finale.
