What’s on Today? De-sexing

It may not be something most people plan to do on a Saturday, but why not take advantage of the Mobile De-sexing unit being in town.

Each year the Tauranga SPCA gets inundated with kittens that people can't look after or don't want.

Margaret Rawiri is inviting people to use the Mobile De-sexing unit to have their animals fixed.

'That's why it's so frustrating because we know by December we'll be pulling our hair out not knowing what to do with all of these unwanted kittens that have been dumped in parks, or turned up on someone's doorstep,” says Tauranga SPCA's Margaret Rawiri.

Margaret's hoping things will be different this time round as the Mobile De-sexing Clinic comes to Tauranga for the last time due to reasons unknown to Margaret.

The caravan will be operating six days a week, for three weeks, in October and November.

The Mobile De-sexing Clinic is based at Tauranga SPCA for three weeks in October and November. The service costs just $20 for cat owners with a community services card.

Bookings are essential. For more information, or to book, visit Tauranga SPCA at 43 Alach St, Greerton.
