The All Blacks have finished top of their pool and now wait to see who they will play from the France versus Ireland match early tomorrow morning. But let's rate how our boys went against Tonga.
New Zealand went on to beat Tonga 47-9 in Newcastle yesterday. It was a case of exhilaration for test centurian Ma'a Nonu but a sad farewell for Tony Woodcock who ended his World Cup with a hamstring injury.

Player Ratings:
Ben Smith 7 Solid game from the fullback always in the right spot at the right time.
Nehe Milner-Skudder 7
Another solid game probably cementing his spot on the right wing.
Conrad Smith 6
Nothing flashy but solid as usual. That's what we've come to expect from Mr Dependable.
Ma'a Nonu 7
Great game deserved to score the final try to go along with his 100 test cap.
Waisake Naholo 5
Dropped a real sitter and starting to look like a man who hasn't played a lot of rugby. The trials are over he's had his chance.
Dan Carter 6
Better showing from previous outings. He finally found his running game. Still some concerns with his inability to find touch at vital times.
Aaron Smith 4.5
Still some concerns with is general play often getting caught not clearing ball quick enough which is having an impact on Carter's running game.
Kieran Read 6
Hasn't put a foot wrong so far this tournament despite getting 10 minutes in the bin. Just waiting to see him impose himself when New Zealand kick off.
Sam Cane 6.5
A real work horse in everything he did on the field. Helped to set up the first try.
Jerome Kaino 5
Didn't do anything wrong but still hasn't brought that X-factor he showed at the last World Cup.
Sam Whitelock 6.5
Worked hard in the tight and at the hit-up.
Luke Romana 5
Did what was expected of him but nothing flashy like you come to expect from Retallick.
Owen Franks 5
Did what he needed at scrum time which is to wear his opponent down.
Dane Coles 6
Worked hard around the field but spends too much time out on the edges for my liking.
Tony Woodcock 7.5
Got through a mountain load of work both at scrum time and in the hit up, despite being monstered a couple of times. Deserved his try sad way to end his career not making it to the finals.
Reserves: (in order of appearance)
Keven Mealam 6
Came on and continued Coles good work
Wyatt Crocket 6
Replaced the injured Woodcock and added a bit of grunt when it was needed.
Ben Franks
Nothing flashy solid performance.
Brodie Retallick 6.5
Came on and added real grunt and power to the inside channels.
Liam Messam 6
It's been unfortunate for Messam having an injury has meant he hasn't had a chance to show the coaches what he can do. Not sure he did enough to give him any more game time.
Tawera Kerr-Barlow 6
Didn't really offer any more impact but was solid anyway.
Beauden Barrett 6.5
Mr Super-sub seems to be able to create something out of nothing. Nice little chip-kick to create try.
Sonny Bill Williams 6.5
Another good performance a great impact player to bring on when players are getting tired.

Who is this rater must have been watching different games than I. Must be totally out of touch with present game and I have been involved as a player coach and referee for 40 year. GET REAL. Kaino deserves a 1.
