Pyes Pa School is going to be a fun place this Saturday, October 17, when the Pyes Pa School Calf Club and Gala Day gets under way.
Animal judging starts at 8am and the full gala commences at 10am.
Principal Brendan Clarkin says the day is for the whole community and anyone who fancies a fun day out.
Good turnout
'It has always had a good turnout with probably more than 2000 people coming through the gates last year.”
As with most schools, the gala is a fundraiser for the school and in this case the money raised will go towards putting the finishing touches on the school's new Environmental and Visual Arts Centre.
'This is a facility the school owns outright with no funding from government,” says Brendan.
'We built it with donations and insurance money from a school fire.”
The day will include such attractions as a golf competition, pony rides, a digger challenge, mower races, paintball, be a principal for a day raffle and more.
Entry is free and there will be a display of art by some notable local artists in the Environmental Arts Centre.
