Police are still at the scene of a fatal crash between a car and motorcycle on Pakuranga Highway in Highland Park.

The rider of the motorcyclist died at the scene.

The occupants of the other vehicle are uninjured.

Both sides of the highway are affected and closures are in place at Aviemore Drive and Prince Regent Drive however Police expect to reopen the road at around 3.30pm.

Counties Manukau Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
