A Tauranga woman is looking forward to spending big this Labour Weekend after winning a mega prize at this year's Tauranga Spring Home Show.

Linda Cooper's lucky competition entry ticket to the Spring Home Show last weekend won her a $10,000 voucher to spend at Mitre 10 Mega.

When SunLive called her this afternoon, Linda and husband Murray were already at Mitre 10 Mega setting up their account, which will be credited and ready for them to spend this weekend.

'It's absolutely outstanding,” says Linda. 'We're really excited because it's an awful lot of money.

'We're just trying to think of all the things we can get with it.”

Linda says she'll be sharing the prize with her family.

'It's going to be spent on lovely things we probably wouldn't normally go and get, which would be some outdoor furniture,” she says.

'My daughter wants a new barbecue, so it'll be spent on lovely things that are going to benefit our lifestyle.

'I've been eyeing up some lovely outdoor furniture at Mitre 10 and my husband's got his eye on a new ladder.”

Linda will also be sharing the spending money with her sister, who accompanied her to the Spring Home Show in Mount Maunganui.

'We certainly won't be spending it all at once,” says Linda. 'There'll be a lot of thought goes into what it's used for.”
