Tauranga Boys' College old boy and Black Cap Kane Williamson is cleared to fly to India and join the rest of the New Zealand cricket team.

He is expected to leave New Zealand today.

The rest of the team flew to India on Wednesday, but Kane stayed behind owing to a chest infection.

New Zealand Cricket medical staff have now cleared the 20 year old to fly to India and join the team in Chennai.

He will miss the first warm up match against Ireland in Nagpur, but will be with the team in time for match against India in Chennai.
