Update: 3.54PM: Invercargill Police are investigating a fatal car accident that occurred just after 7am today.
Police say a charcoal coloured Nissan two-door car was travelling in a westerly direction on Yarrow St towards Dee St and proceeded across Dee Street, crashing into the wall of the Farmers Trading Company. The sole female driver was found dead following the impact of the crash.
Police would like to hear of anyone who may have witnessed this crash or may have witnessed the Nissan vehicle travelling west on Yarrow St, through the Kelvin and Dee St lights.
Details of the deceased driver have not been released at this stage.

Police say the woman who died following a serious crash near the intersection of Bluff Highway about 1am today died after being stuck by a car.
Emergency services were called to the scene at the intersection of Yarrow St and Dee St about 7.15am after police say a car crashed into the Farmers building.
Police say the woman driver and sole occupant of the vehicle died as a result of the crash. It appears no other vehicle was involved.
Police Serious Crash Investigators are still at the scene of the crash on State Highway 1 and Omaui Road.
Road blocks in place at the scene of the crash will be removed soon. Police will advise when this happens and regret any inconvenience caused to road users in the area at the time.
Enquiries are continuing into the cause of the crash.
Police believe they know the identity of the deceased woman but her name won't be released until next of kin are informed.
