Revamped building competition

The Registered Master Builders House of the Year Awards has added Whakatane and Rotorua to the mix this year, making the competition better, bigger and brighter, says Bay of Plenty House of the Year coordinator Lani Christensen.
These changes to the competition will increase the level of interest in new housing and renovations in the Bay of Plenty region, says Lani.

The revised competition will be called The Registered Master Builders Bay of Plenty House of the Year and Commercial Projects Awards, and will deliver a more proficient and profitable regional competition and event.
HOY committee chairman Peter Buck from the Thorne Group, says the awards will also raise the awareness, profile and interest in registered Master Builders, and differentiate then from the alternatives within the Bay of Plenty region.
Registered Master Builders can enter 14 new home and renovation categories, plus five lifestyle awards which every residential property is automatically entered into.
In addition, there are five commercial project categories, which cover retail and business projects, health projects, education projects, industrial, utility and infrastructure projects and tourism and leisure projects.
Entries close on February 25 with the winners announced at an awards dinner on August 19 at Classic Flyers Museum.
Lani says registered Master Builders stand by their work for ten years and clients can be guaranteed of a job well done, which stands the test of time.
'Any building job can be nerve wracking, however for a minimal cost owners can have the peace of mind of a ‘Master Build Guarantee'.
'We will be there for the next 10 years to solve any problem.”
