I take it the owners couldn't afford a towball lock or wheel clamp? Some chain and a padlock? I thought everyone knew, if it aint bolted down, its gawn? In this day and age, outboard boats have to be chained to the trailer, the motor has to be chained to the boat and the whole thing has to be chained to something? That is just how it is now... has been for years... sorry for your loss.... but please... wake up? inboard Boats, caravans and trailers have to be made 'untowable' by clamp, lock or chain.... stop inviting these lowlives to take your stuff!! Common sense??

DIstinctive enough...

Come on people, surely someone has seen this 18 foot boat somewhere around Papamoa or the Mount, it's distinctive enough! :) GreertonBoy, I agree with you that these days you have to use some common sense with your property sadly, but not everyone feels the need to put everything in lockdown thinking it's going to get stolen at some point either. We lived in California for more than 22 years and never experienced any crime, or had anything broken into...so when we moved to Papamoa we felt it was alrigtht to leave our new car on the driveway over night, so we could unpack inside the garage. Nothing was inside the car, and it was locked. Next morning we woke to find it had been broken into, it was very upsetting and a rude "hello" to our new neighborhood. You can't live your life not trusting anyone though.
