Battle of the bridge at Blake Park

The BOP Cup is a round robin competition, where the team that finishes in first place, based upon the highest average points, will lift aloft the trophy in triumph.

There have been few more intense Baywide cricket rivalries in Baywide Premier cricket than the one between the two teams, who are separated by the Tauranga Harbour Bridge.

There is plenty at stake at Blake Park as the last game the two Baywide heavyweights took part in finished being resolved by the rulebook.

East Bay United, which has lost its last two matches by a solitary run will want to get back on a winning track against Dawson Insurance Eastern Pirates in the Eastern Bay of Plenty.

However, Eastern Pirates, which are the Rotorua one-day champions, have shown that they are capable of posting big totals with the bat, and have a several top class bowlers in their ranks.
